Speak with Magic Trader Wesley in the Ivory Tower and accept the job. He will give you a Mixing Manual and Wesley's Mixing Stone, which allow you to use the Alchemical Mixing Urn.

Wesley's Mixing Stone
Your goal is to collect basic alchemical materials from monsters in the Tower of Insolence and the Blazing Swamp, then combine them in the urn. The finished reagents can be exchanged with Wesley for useful items, recipes, materials and Adena.

Open the Reagent Pouches and Reagent Boxes you obtain while farming. They contain additional ingredients needed for the mixing formulas.
Using the Alchemical Mixing Urn
After collecting enough materials, use the Alchemical Mixing Urn. Insert the Mixing Stone, select the main ingredient, add the correct catalyst, choose a temperature and start mixing.
The temperature determines both the success chance and the number of reagents produced:

Higher temperatures can produce more reagents at once, but failed attempts still consume the selected ingredients and catalyst.

Trading Reagents with Wesley
Finished reagents can be returned to Wesley in exchange for different rewards. Each exchange consumes the selected reagent.

Quick Guide
1. Start the quest from Magic Trader Wesley in the Ivory Tower.
2. Farm quest materials in the Tower of Insolence and Blazing Swamp.
3. Open Reagent Pouches and Reagent Boxes for additional ingredients.
4. Use the Alchemical Mixing Urn and follow one of the formulas above.
5. Choose Salamander for guaranteed results or risk Ifrit/Phoenix for larger output.
6. Return finished reagents to Wesley and exchange them for rewards.
