The Complete Guide to Seeds, Harvesting, Crops and Castle Management

Lineage II Interlude - L2Temida

The Manor System is an agricultural system controlled by castle owners. It allows players to grow valuable crops by planting seeds into monsters and exchanging the harvested crops for useful crafting materials.

Each castle manages its own territory, seed production, crop purchases, prices and available rewards. The Manor System creates an economy between ordinary players and the clans that control castles.

Any player can participate in Manor farming. You do not need to own a castle or belong to the castle owner's clan.

How Does Manor Work?

Buy Seeds → Sow a Monster → Kill the Monster → Harvest Crops → Exchange Crops for Rewards

Guide Contents

1. Getting Started - What Do You Need?

Before starting Manor farming, visit a Manor Manager. These NPCs are located in towns belonging to castle territories.

You will need:

  • Adena - to purchase seeds and a Harvester.
  • Seeds - appropriate for the territory and monster level.
  • Harvester - a reusable tool for collecting crops from defeated monsters.
  • Suitable monsters - preferably close to your character's level and the seed's level.

Talk to the Manor Manager and select:

  • Purchase Seed - buy available seeds.
  • Purchase Harvester - buy the harvesting tool.
  • View the Manor Status - check seed availability, crop purchases and rewards.
  • View the Basic Seed Information - inspect available seed types.
  • Tally Up Indigenous Product - exchange harvested crops for rewards.

Important: A seed can only be planted in the castle territory to which it belongs. Buying seeds in one territory does not allow you to plant them in another.

2. Regular Seeds and Alternative Seeds

There are two types of Manor seeds. Understanding the difference is essential, because planting a seed can directly affect the items dropped by a monster.

Feature Regular Seed Alternative Seed
Base Sowing Success 100% 30%
Normal Monster Drops Disabled after successful sowing Enabled
Adena Drops Enabled Enabled
Seal Stones Enabled Enabled
Spoil / Sweep Available Available
Crop Harvesting Available after successful sowing Available after successful sowing

Regular Seeds

Regular Seeds have a high base sowing success rate. However, after a successful sowing, the monster will no longer drop normal items such as crafting materials, equipment or recipes.

Adena and Seal Stones can still drop normally. Quest rewards and Spoil/Sweep are handled separately.

Best for: Players who want a high chance of successful planting and consistent crop farming.

Alternative Seeds

Alternative Seeds have a lower base sowing success rate, but they allow the monster to retain its normal item drop possibilities.

This means that you can obtain regular monster drops while also having an opportunity to harvest crops. Normal drop chances still apply - an item is not guaranteed.

Best for: Players who want to continue ordinary farming while taking advantage of the Manor System.

Note: A failed sowing attempt does not activate the normal drop restriction. Only a successfully sown Regular Seed changes ordinary monster drops.

3. Seed Categories and Recommended Levels

Manor seeds are divided into four main families. Each family is generally intended for a different level range.

Seed Family Approximate Level Range Description
Coda 10 - 30 Low-level Manor farming.
Cobol 31 - 48 Mid-level Manor farming.
Codran 49 - 64 Higher-level Manor farming.
Coba 65+ High-level Manor farming.

These are general family recommendations from the Manor System. Every individual seed has its own level, and your success chance depends on the actual levels of your character, seed and target monster.

4. Castle Territories and Available Seeds

Each castle has its own Manor territory and seed catalogue. The following information is based on the L2Temida seed data.

Castle Seed Types Seed Level Range
Gludio3210 - 67
Dion2419 - 50
Giran3231 - 73
Oren3610 - 79
Aden3040 - 79
Innadril2034 - 76
Goddard1664 - 85
Rune2058 - 85
Schuttgart3610 - 58

Seed Types includes both Regular and Alternative variants. Seed Level Range shows the lowest and highest seed levels in each castle's catalogue, not every level between them. These are seed levels, not character requirements. Actual daily stock depends on the castle's Manor settings.

Remember: A seed belonging to Gludio Manor can only be planted while farming in Gludio's castle territory. The same rule applies to every other castle.

5. Sowing - How to Plant Seeds

Sowing is the process of planting a seed into a living monster. A successful sowing makes the monster eligible to produce a crop.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Purchase the appropriate seeds from your territory's Manor Manager.
  2. Find a suitable monster within the same castle territory.
  3. Target the monster while it is still alive.
  4. Double-click the seed in your inventory, or use it from your shortcut bar.
  5. Wait for the sowing result.
  6. If sowing succeeds, defeat the monster.
  7. Use your Harvester on the corpse to collect the crop.

The game will display one of the following messages:

  • The seed was successfully sown. - The monster has been seeded.
  • The seed was not sown. - Planting failed.

Only one successful seed can be planted into a monster. If the attempt fails, you may attempt to sow the monster again, provided that it is still alive and has not been successfully seeded.

Every sowing attempt consumes one seed, including unsuccessful attempts.

Sowing Restrictions

  • You cannot sow a dead monster.
  • You cannot sow a monster that has already been successfully seeded.
  • You cannot sow outside the seed's assigned castle territory.
  • Raid Bosses, raid-related minions, treasure chests and certain special monsters are excluded.
  • Some special monsters and Champions may be available for sowing on L2Temida.
  • Sowing is not available on players or ordinary NPCs.

6. Sowing and Harvesting Success Rates

The success rate depends on the seed type and the level difference between the player, the seed and the monster.

Setting L2Temida Value
Regular Seed - Base Sowing Chance100%
Alternative Seed - Base Sowing Chance30%
Base Harvesting Chance90%
Player / Monster Level Tolerance7 Levels
Seed / Monster Level Tolerance7 Levels
Penalty Beyond Tolerance7 points per additional level in the relevant base calculation
Minimum Final Success Chance1%

For sowing, both player-to-monster and seed-to-monster level differences affect the calculation. Alternative Seeds apply a lower success multiplier.

For harvesting, the relevant level difference is between the player and the monster. Harvesting does not use the seed-to-monster difference a second time.

Tip: For the best results, select monsters close to your level and use seeds with a similar level.

These are L2Temida server settings. They may differ from older retail guides that describe a 5-level tolerance.

7. Harvesting - How to Collect Crops

After successfully planting a seed and defeating the monster, you must use a Harvester to collect the crop.

  1. Make sure the sowing was successful.
  2. Kill the seeded monster.
  3. Keep the dead monster targeted.
  4. Use your Harvester on its corpse.
  5. If harvesting succeeds, the crops will be added to your inventory.

Important harvesting rules:

  • Only the player who successfully planted the seed can harvest that monster.
  • The corpse remains available for harvesting for approximately 20 seconds.
  • Harvesting can fail even if sowing was successful.
  • If harvesting fails, the available crop is lost.
  • Some monsters with increased HP can produce more than one crop.
  • The Harvester is reusable and is not consumed after each harvest.

Do not wait too long after killing a seeded monster! Harvest before the corpse disappears.

8. How Manor Affects Monster Drops

One of the most important Manor mechanics is the interaction between planted seeds and regular monster drops.

Regular Seed

When a Regular Seed is successfully planted, the monster's standard item drops are suppressed. Adena and Seal Stones remain available.

Alternative Seed

When an Alternative Seed is successfully planted, the monster retains its normal drop chances. Crop harvesting is also possible.

Spoil and Sweep: These mechanics remain available on seeded monsters. A monster can be both spoiled and seeded.

Quest Items: Quest rewards are processed separately from ordinary monster loot and are not removed by the Regular Seed drop restriction. Normal quest conditions still apply.

Experience and SP: Using seeds does not replace the normal experience and SP rewards from defeating monsters.

If your monster stops dropping normal crafting materials after a successful Regular Seed, this is intended Manor behavior and not a server bug.

9. Selling Crops and Receiving Rewards

Harvested crops can be exchanged at a Manor Manager for useful materials. The rewards and exchange quantities depend on the castle that is purchasing the crops.

How to Exchange Crops

  1. Visit a Manor Manager.
  2. Select Tally Up Indigenous Product.
  3. Choose the crop you wish to exchange.
  4. Select a castle currently purchasing that crop.
  5. Enter the desired crop quantity.
  6. Check the reward and confirm the exchange.

You can check available purchasing castles and their reward settings through the Manor status information.

Important: Crops are exchanged for reward items, usually crafting materials, rather than direct Adena payments.

Reward Types

Each castle can select one of two reward lists for the crops it purchases. These are commonly called Reward Type I and Reward Type II.

Different reward types offer different materials. The quantity received depends on the crop purchasing price and the reference value of the reward item.

For example, the Dark Coda crop has the following possible reward items:

Reward Type Material
Type I Stem
Type II Braided Hemp

The castle determines which reward type is active. Always check the current reward information before exchanging your crops.

Selling Crops to Other Castles

Unlike seeds, harvested crops may be sold to another castle if that castle is currently purchasing the corresponding crop.

When using a Manor Manager to sell crops to a different castle's Manor, a 5% commission is charged in Adena based on the crop transaction value.

Selling crops to the local castle does not incur this cross-territory commission.

L2Temida Crop Exchange Limits

Restriction Value
Maximum Crops per Transaction 300
Cooldown After Successful Exchange 5 Seconds
Foreign Castle Commission 5% Adena

The 300-crop limit applies to the combined quantity in one transaction, not to the total amount you can exchange during the entire day. Requests above the limit are reduced automatically.

Crop purchase quantities are limited. If a castle has already purchased its full daily allocation, you must select another purchasing castle or wait for the next Manor period.

10. Manor Daily Schedule

The Manor System operates on a daily schedule. Seed availability and crop purchasing quantities are refreshed when the new Manor period begins.

Server Time Activity
06:00 Next-period Manor settings are approved and the required treasury budget is reserved. Further changes to that period are locked.
20:00 Daily Manor maintenance begins.
20:00 - 20:06 Maintenance period. Manor trading is temporarily unavailable.
20:06 New Manor period begins. Updated seed supplies and crop purchasing settings become active.
20:06 - 06:00 Castle owners may configure the next Manor period. Regular trading continues outside maintenance.

All times are based on the server clock and the current L2Temida Manor configuration.

Popular seeds and crop purchase quotas can sell out quickly after the daily Manor refresh.

11. Manor Management for Castle Owners

The clan that controls a castle can manage the Manor System and its agricultural economy.

The Clan Leader or an authorized clan member with Manor administration privileges can configure the castle's Manor settings.

Seed Production

Through the castle's Manor management options, authorized members can:

  • Select which supported seeds will be offered for sale.
  • Set the quantity of each seed type.
  • Set the selling price of each seed.
  • Review the production cost for the next Manor period.

The quantity available for each seed is limited by the castle's seed production limits.

Crop Procurement

Castle owners can also configure crop purchasing:

  • Choose which supported crops the castle will purchase.
  • Set the purchasing quantity for each crop.
  • Set the crop purchasing price.
  • Select Reward Type I or Reward Type II.

Seed selling prices and crop purchasing prices generally operate within 60% to 1000% of their standard reference prices, subject to the server's validation rules.

Castle Treasury

The castle must have sufficient Adena in its treasury to fund the configured seed production and crop procurement.

The required budget is reserved when the next Manor period is approved. If the treasury does not contain enough Adena, the configured Manor operations cannot be funded as planned.

Revenue from seed sales is returned to the castle's treasury. Unused crop procurement funds are returned during the daily settlement.

Crop Processing and Castle Rewards

Crops purchased by the castle are processed during Manor settlement. Approximately 90% of purchased crop quantities become corresponding mature crops in the clan warehouse.

Mature crops can be used with the castle's production services, including the Castle Blacksmith, to create valuable items. Available products and additional Adena fees depend on the castle and its production options.

By setting competitive prices and useful reward types, castle owners can encourage players to farm and sell crops to their territory.

12. Useful Manor Farming Tips

  • Check the Manor Status before farming. Make sure a castle is purchasing the crop you intend to produce.
  • Use seeds close to your level. Large differences between your level, the seed and the monster reduce your success chance.
  • Use Regular Seeds for crop-focused farming. They have a much higher base sowing success rate.
  • Use Alternative Seeds if you want normal drops. Their sowing chance is lower, but monster loot is preserved.
  • Keep the Harvester on your shortcut bar. You have limited time to harvest a corpse.
  • Compare castles before exchanging crops. Different castles can offer different prices and rewards.
  • Remember the foreign castle commission. Selling to a different castle may require additional Adena.
  • Check the daily refresh time. Popular crop purchasing quotas may disappear quickly.
  • Farm with enough inventory space. Make sure you can carry the crop rewards.

13. Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the monster stop dropping normal items?

You probably used a Regular Seed successfully. Regular Seeds suppress normal item drops, except Adena and Seal Stones. Use an Alternative Seed if you want to preserve ordinary drops.

Can I use Spoil and a Manor Seed on the same monster?

Yes. Spoil/Sweep and Manor Sowing can work together. A seeded monster can also be spoiled.

Why did my seed fail?

Sowing is chance-based. Alternative Seeds have a lower base success rate. Large differences between the player, seed and monster levels also reduce the success chance.

Why did harvesting fail after successful sowing?

Sowing and harvesting are separate checks. Even after successful planting, the harvest attempt may fail. The base harvesting success rate on L2Temida is 90%, subject to level penalties.

Can my party member harvest my seeded monster?

No. Only the character who successfully planted the seed is authorized to harvest that monster.

Why can't I plant my seed in another area?

Every Manor seed belongs to a specific castle territory. You must plant it within the territory associated with that seed.

Why can't I sell my crops?

The selected castle may not be purchasing that crop, its purchasing quota may already be exhausted, or the Manor System may be under maintenance. Also check your inventory, available Adena for commission, exchange cooldown and requested quantity.

Why did a very small crop exchange fail?

The reward quantity is calculated from the crop's purchasing value and the reward item's reference value. Very small exchanges may not produce a whole reward item. Try a larger valid quantity.

Can I exchange crops in a different territory?

Yes. Harvested crops can be exchanged with another castle that is purchasing them. A 5% Adena commission applies when selling to a foreign castle through a local Manor Manager.

Is Manor available every day?

Yes, provided that the system is enabled and the castle has configured and funded its operations. Daily maintenance takes place between 20:00 and 20:06 server time.

14. Final Summary

Remember these important rules:

  • Regular Seeds offer high sowing success but suppress normal monster item drops.
  • Alternative Seeds have lower sowing success but preserve normal monster drops.
  • Adena, Seal Stones and Spoil/Sweep remain available with Regular Seeds.
  • Seeds must be used within their assigned castle territory.
  • Only the original sower can harvest the seeded monster.
  • Harvest quickly after killing the monster.
  • Crop rewards depend on the purchasing castle and its reward settings.
  • Manor purchasing quotas and seed supplies are limited.
  • The new Manor period begins after the daily maintenance at approximately 20:06 server time.
